Django's Continued fun progress
I am having so much fun with Mr. Django and his training. Here is another photo diary of his introduction to arena work and natural lunging. If you'd like to follow his vlog from Liberty-Line-Mounted and FUN!damentals go here to subscribe http://www.fdhorsemanship.com/#!classroom

I've been following you blog for quite a while now and really enjoy learning about the WHR, not to mention the many other things I learn in almost every post. I would like to begin doing the WHR with my 3 horses and am looking for some step-by-step how-to's. Would Carolyn Resnick's "Introduction to the Waterhole Rituals" DVD be what I am looking for, or would you suggest something else?
ReplyDeleteI also had a question about "sharing space". Is it better to do this with each horse individually, or in a herd setting (multiple horses at the same time)?
Thank you so much!
Sarah
That DVD is a nice overview of the WHR but her online class is really fun and more in depth. I am also giving clinics possibly near you this year in the fall? It is best to start the Sharing space with one horse at a time in a place they live that is safe and calm for them and you. As a safety precaution, practice moving your horse a few steps slowly and then a quickly away to make sure you can move him/her away then sit with them. I do work with multiple horses once I have gotten a nice connection with all of them. Keep me posted on progress :)
DeleteThanks. I'll keep you posted:) I was also wondering if a horse that has been desensitized to the extreme can be "re-sensitized" in any way?
ReplyDeleteSarah
I believe they can and Django is a good example of a horse I spent more time on sensitizing. I could help you with a Skype session maybe?
