LLM: Lateral work and Leg Yield: Line phase

This is a series showing the progression through all the elements of lateral work and Leg Yielding in a fun, creative way. I am using the Liberty rein for ground play and Line work in this video to allow my horse to have the freedom to place experiment with his body positioning and arrange himself without too much interference. Purchase a Liberty Rein at this link http://fdhorsetraining.com/Bridleshop.html

  2. Just wondering - I have a horse that goes to the right very well, however when I ask him to go to the left 9 out of 10 times he will take 4 or 5 steps to the left and then turn and go to the right. Should I allow him to turn, go a half circle or so to the right, and then stop him and ask him to go to the left or should I continue his turn and ask him to continue walking to the left? If this is too big of a question to answer on the blog just let me know.
    Thank you!

    1. This all really depends on where I am with an individual horse and the given moment. So how much connection I have with them, How green they are, How experienced they are, How fit they are etc are all questions that I ask myself to determine how I respond to these types of conversations with my horse. If I saw you and your horse work, I would better be able to determine some suggestions. :)
